A Winter's Day

I couldn't sleep last night because the winds were howling all across my island. I got up around 3 am to peek outside and saw a sky full of diamonds, crystal clear, suspended in a dome of indigo blue. The urge to go out and stargaze was strong but I resisted because it was just too cold.

This morning the wind chill is around 20 degrees; quite cold for us. But the sun is out and the air is invigorating. But it is one of those days that demands a crackling fire, a good book, a cup of peppermint tea and maybe an afternoon nap. With any luck I will be able to have at least two of those.
